Built for Worship

” Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing.” Psalm 100:1-2

The words “joyful noise” and “serve” carry the idea of ” Shouting for joy” and Worship. Worship is a core discipline of faith. It’s almost impossible to stay on course and move the spiritual needle if we aren’t giving God proper credit for everything the at He does in you and around you.
When we come together as a church, singing and kneeling before God, we are renewed and our strength is restored. When we worship, it erases the feelings of disappointment and discouragement and writes “joy” into our hearts and lives.
No matter what you’ve got planned for today, stop and take just take a moment to give honor to God. Spend time in His word and soak up what He has for you. Spend some time thanking Him for what He’s doing in your life and through your life. Thank God for who HE is!! Be Blessed!!

My God is Greater

1 John 4:4 “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

I love this verse! It’s just an everyday reminder that no matter what I may face, that I belong to the Most High God. I am His Child and have nothing to fear! You too must remember that you are a conqueror through Christ Jesus our Lord! There is nothing bigger than God and nothing stronger than God. When you receive God’ gift of grace, you’ll find that you will also receive His strength and His power to overcome any thing you may come against. Just the thought of knowing that I am His and He is mine should be enough to keep us going through our toughest days.
So, go ahead. Leap out in faith. Enroll in that class, start that new job, even apply for that dream job. Chase your dreams and climb that mountain that always seems to be standing in your way. God is for you and always will be!!
What is God greater than today in your life??

Leaving a Legacy

Have you ever just stopped and asked, ” What kind of legacy am I leaving?” Or even, ” What kind of legacy do I want to leave?” This was a question that was asked recently by a young man who has grown to be a fine Christian and leader among his peers.
Our legacy, whether good or bad is the sum of every decision we will make from childhood to our final breath. These decisions influence of families and friends far beyond our time that God allows us to have here on this earth.
Think about the choices you’ve already made. Think about the path that you leaving behind for others to follow. In all honesty, we are following a path left by others, while we  leave on our marks on that trail.
So here’s our final thought. Will those who follow your legacy trail – follow you to heaven? Are we leading those around us to a personal relationship with Christ?

Prayer Can Help

II Chronicles 7:14 is familiar to many of us, ” If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
With all the turmoil going on in our nation and the world as a whole, it is time that God’s people get on their knees, not in protest, we’ll get that another time, but to seek God’s forgiveness and seek His help in our daily lives. May God’s grace be seen in our walk with Him for others to see and point them to the Cross of Calvary.
It is my prayer that God helps each of us be the light to our communities, families and to our nation. We have been enveloped by the darkness for too long. May He help each of us illuminate the way to the cross. May He help us speak in love, give hope to those around us, walk in integrity and lead by example. Stayed prayed up Brothers and Sisters, the fight is fierce and the enemy strong. But we serve a God that is greater than all !

Power of Words

Proverbs 16:24 tells us “Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and health to the bones.”
Something begins happening to us when we begin to change our point of view, opinions and the words we speak. We will begin to see our lives shift from pessimism to optimism. Which is something many need in their lives today. With the world in the shape she’s in, folks need something positive to latch on to. The songwriter said it best, ” I sure could us a little good news today.” When we begin to change our thinking, bad days turn to good days. And our whole outlook will begin to move us into a new realm.
As followers of Jesus, we not only have the responsibility to be gracious. We have the responsibility of teaching others “grace”.
If you are looking for joy, happiness, contentment and a fullness of life.. then look no further than the words resting in your mind waiting to be proclaimed from your lips. For when we speak life – we win life.

Now What?

How do you know when you’re at a dead end? What causes you to think you’ve even reached a dead end?

Sometimes there are words we use to describe certain times in our lives when we feel most helpless, words like, “cancer,” “divorce,” “bankruptcy,” “infertility,” and “unemployment.”

When you’re stuck and waiting for your breakthrough, we have to keep believing God can do great things. The situation may be out of your control, but it’s never out of God’s. When faced with a dead end, don’t focus on what

you can’t do. Focus instead on what God can do for you and through you.

Romans 4:17b says,  “….he (Abraham) believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;”

There are two things God can do that you cannot: He can give life to the dead things, and he can create something out of nothing. If God can give life to a dead man, he can give life to a dead career. He can bring life to that dead marriage. He can bring life to that dead dream. He can bring life to that financial dead end.

It wasn’t just positive thinking that helped Abraham. Positive thinking is fine when you in a situation that you can control. But that’s not faith. These are two very different things.

In situations that are out of your control, positive thinking is worthless. It’s just wishful thinking. It doesn’t change the situation. When you’re in a place that is beyond your control, you need something more than a positive attitude. You need faith in God, because He can control it even when you can’t. We live most of our lives beyond our control, so we need faith far more than positive thinking.

Our God specializes in the impossible. He is ready to turn your dead end into a straightaway if you’ll let Him.

Sold Out completely

Have you ever stopped and taken a look at your Christian walk and wonder why it seems that there is always something missing ? You know what I mean.  You are always pursuing but never quite catching, you study God’s Word, pray but it never seems like you quite get filled.

But what is it that causes these things ? The answer lies in what surrounds you. Beware of the things that robs you of being all God has called you to be. God promised in Matthew 6:33 that if we would put Him first, He would put us first.  We must stop giving God what is left over and start giving Him what He deserves, our very best!  The only reason that many of us struggle is because we keep giving only half of ourselves instead of fully to God and His control and will for our lives.

We are either fully His or not at all. You are so close to your breakthrough, close to your harvest, close to your blessing – if you will completely sell out to Him today, great things will happen.  It’s yours for the claiming!! Ask God to open doors for you today. And when He does, walk boldly and confidently, through that door into your God given – destiny. He has great things for you!

Like to Fish?

” And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea for they were fishers. And he said unto them, Follow me and I will make your fishers of men.” Matthew 4:18-19

Jesus called these men to begin walking with Him and in turn, bring others to Him for salvation. Today He’s called each of us to keep that journey going, showing the world the love of God and that Jesus saves. The net that Peter and Andrew were throwing that day has been passed down through the generations and has now been placed in our hands.

The question  we must answer is simple… what will we do with it? Will we do our part and throw out the net? Will we represent Christ to those around us?  Maybe you’re not a leader in the church. Maybe you don’t your Bible as well as you should. Maybe you’re not the “perfect” Christian. That’s alright!! All we have to do is cast out the net. Just be who God has made you to be….YOU!  He’ll do the rest!!

Happy Fishing!!
